Question: What's up? Last time you gave no scoop whatsoever on Gilmore Girls, except for one lame one. Personally, I could care less, but my fiancée is dying to know what is going on. Help a brother out here.— Joe
Ausiello: Lorelai is going to go out of her way to help Luke in his custody battle for April. Now, Joe, if that doesn't get you some action tonight, nothing will.
Question: Is the death you were referring to on Gilmore Girls going to be Paul Anka?— Jill B.
Ausiello: No, but you're close.
Question: Is there any new Gilmore Girls scoop? Perhaps word on when Lorelai will make her first appearance in Luke's diner again?— Katie
Ausiello: Sookie brings her some coffee from the diner, and they talk about whether that's weird for Lorelai. Does that count?

Episode 7.13 - I'd Rather Be In Philadelphia
Airdate: February 6th
Writer: Rebecca Rand Kirshner
Director: Lee Shallat Chemel
From The CW: RICHARD IS HOSPITALIZED — In the hospital waiting room, Lorelai (Lauren Graham), Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Emily (Kelly Bishop) anxiously await word on Richard’s (Edward Herrmann) condition. When Logan (Matt Czuchry) hears what is happening, he borrows a helicopter to be by Rory’s side, but Lorelai is unable to reach Christopher (David Sutcliffe), who is still angry over their fight the night before. Upset by Emily’s attempt to remain calm by dealing with her social calendar, Lorelai is relieved when Luke (Scott Patterson) shows up unannounced and volunteers to run errands for Emily. Christopher finally arrives to be with Lorelai, but the scene at the hospital is more than he can take.

Question: You've been stingy with Gilmore Girls scoop lately. Tell the truth: Is it because you got in trouble after Whispergate?— Christina
Ausiello: Me? In trouble? Pshaw. Next to Isaiah Washington's Golden Globes meltdown, Whispergate was the best thing to happen to my career. I thank the gods every day for giving me the gift of Whispergate. Heck, if it wasn't for all the increased visibility that Whispergate brought me, a heavily imbedded Gilmore Girls source probably wouldn't have come up to me at press tour and revealed that (Massive spoiler alert) David Rosenthal is seriously considering ending the season (or series?) with Lorelai and Luke not only married but expecting a baby. Which leads me to my next piece of scoop….
Question: Great job at the Globes, but you've been very negligent with Gilmore Girls recently. Please give us some more scoop that doesn't involve the death of a pet!— Grace
Ausiello: Fair enough. The buzz in Stars Hollow is that the key to an eighth season may rest in Alexis Bledel's petite hands. Unlike Lauren Graham, who appears to be somewhat amenable to the idea of continuing on for another year, Bledel is proving a tougher sell. As a result, Warner Bros. and the CW are allegedly developing a Plan B that would focus an eighth season on Lorelai, Luke and their new baby, with the occasional sweeps-month guest appearance by Rory. Wow, that sounds like a disaster.
Question: Do you know how Gilmore Girls plans to deal with Melissa McCarthy's pregnancy?— Katherine
Ausiello: Scoop! They're dealing with it by making Sookie pregnant for a third time. Not sure how Dave R. is gonna pull that one off, considering Jackson had that vasectomy and all. Maybe Taylor's the daddy? I kid. I kid.
Question: Any news about Milo and Alexis getting back together?— Esther Ortiz
Ausiello: Clearly, someone didn't watch my red-carpet interview with Milo. (On the off chance your computer lacks video capabilities, Milo confirmed that they are not back together.)
Don't forget this one for the R/L crowd:
Question: Any scoop for Rory and Logan?— Mel K.
Ausiello: Yeah, but it might make you ill. Matt Czuchry thinks Rory and Logan should eventually (yikes!) go their separate ways. "I would love to see Rory single at the end. I just feel like that's the way the show began, with the mother-daughter relationship. It's kind of like Sex and the City with Sarah Jessica Parker and the big question of, 'What is she going to do at the end?' I thought she should have been by herself, because that was the whole through-line of the show. The most important thing for me is that Rory and Lorelai are there together at the end. It should be about the Gilmore girls and them going forward." You know what? As much as I love Logan and Rory, I kinda agree with him.
i jeszcze
Lorelai will end her marriage with Chris. The latter won't be happy about it. Lorelai will stay single for a little while. Some people over at FanForum say that Luke will be quite impressed with Lorelai's letter and that it'll make him see that he was good enough for her. Source: SpoilerFix BuddyTV Spoilers Chat

Episode 7.14: Farewell, My Pet
Airdate: February 13, 2007
Two days after his by-pass surgery, Richard is on the road to recovery, and Rory returns to Yale, where she finds that Richard's economics class is now being taught by an attractive young professor, Tucker Culbertson (guest star Cameron Bender), who flusters Rory with his charm. While Lorelai tries to distract herself from the issues in her marriage, she and Sookie focus on planning a funeral for one of Michel's beloved dogs. Finally, Christopher returns ready to talk, and he and Lorelai discuss the main problem that has haunted their marriage - Lorelai's feelings for Luke. Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena, Liza Weil and Matt Czuchry also star. Source: The CW
You may have heard TV Guide's report that Alexis Bledel (Rory) does not want to continue Gilmore Girls and that the CW is moving forward with the idea of doing the show without her. Well, according to my sources—who are highly placed within the Gilmore family—the plan of a Roryless eighth season has been firmly rejected for one very good reason: Lauren Graham is sticking by her onscreen daughter (you gotta love that) and has made it clear that she will not continue the show without Alexis on board. So... will we get another season? Lauren and Alexis are making the decision as a team. If they both decide to partake in an eighth season, we'll get another year of Gilmore bliss. If not, this will be the final year of the show we so adore. Still, don't start saying your goodbyes just yet. The show's rep at the CW insists the report that Alexis does not want to continue with the show is "really just a rumor... I've never heard that from Alexis' people or any reliable source close to the production." Plus, there's another reason to hold out hope: I'm also told CW president Dawn Ostroff isn't ready to let Lorelai and Rory go—and is prepared to do "whatever it takes" to turn the show around creatively and keep it around another year. Question: Thanks for all your info on Gilmore Girls in last week's AA! But after getting our hopes up that the season could end with Luke and Lorelai married and expecting a baby, how likely is that?— Christina
Ausiello: A week ago I would've said it was fairly likely. But this week? Not so likely. (Spoiler alert) Shortly after my item ran, a Gilmore insider (who asked not to be identified for fear of unemployment), confided to me that the engagement/pregnancy plot has been scaled back. "They will not be that far along in a relationship [by May]," my spy revealed. "There will be progress, but she won't be pregnant or engaged in the season or series finale — as of now."
Question: So, Lauren Graham is going to be a producer on Gilmore Girls (Ausiello Report 1/29). Have Scott Patterson and Paul Anka started sending out their resumes yet?— Karri
Ausiello: Oh, no you di'nt

Episode 7.15 - I'm a Kayak, Hear Me Roar

Writer: Rebecca Rand Kirshner
Director: Lee Shallat Chemel

Over a shared bottle of scotch, Lorelai finally tells her mother about the breakup of her marriage.

Question: I think it's about time for some serious Gilmore Girls scoop, preferably something related to Luke and Lorelai.— Maggie
Ausiello: Just received a fresh batch of intel on Episode 18 (aka "the best episode of the season," per my Girls mole), and there's a pivotal scene at the end in which (Spoiler alert) Luke and Lorelai both apologize for all that ugly stuff that led to their breakup. Best of all, Lorelai utters the words we've been longing to hear since last May: "I was possessed by some evil spirit when I slept with Christopher."* Although the heartfelt powwow doesn't include any physical contact (i.e., smooching, necking, petting, etc), it certainly paves the way for a possible May-sweeps reunion. (* Not a direct quote)
Question: More Gilmore Girls gossip, please!— Britt
Ausiello: Episode 17, "Gilmore Girls Only," is gonna more than live up to its title when Lorelai, Rory and Emily embark on a road trip to North Carolina to attend Mia's wedding. (Gratuitous exposition alert: Mia is the woman who served as a surrogate mother/grandmother to Lorelai and Rory. She's also the person who gave Lorelai her job at the Independence Inn. The role, originated by Elizabeth Franz back in Season 2, will now be played by Picket Fences' Kathy Baker.) This is also the episode when Lane finally pops out those ginormous twins
